The Art Show Theme for the 2019 Spring Semester is Oceans!
This semester in art we are learning about our beautiful oceans. We will be creating artwork inspired by whales, sea turtles, jelly fish, coral reefs, and much more. Students are already creating amazing, original works of art. Please join us at our spring semester art show in May to support our GES artists, and see all the incredible art for yourself!
Would you like to help at the art show? Parent help is always welcome and appreciated. If you are interested in helping at the art show, please drop me an e-mail!
Empty Bowls The Empty Bowls Project will be working with 4th grade classes this semester at GES. Students will be creating and glazing bowls to support the Carson Valley Community Food Closet. This will give students the opportunity to work with clay while learning about community service. Empty Bowls raises funds and awareness about hunger in local communities by auctioning off ceramic bowls during their October fundraiser. Parents will have an opportunity to donate $20 to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet if they would like to receive their child's bowl. Bowls will be available at the art show on May 21st. More information will be coming home with students.
